The Canadian Folk Music Awards Announce 2021 Nominees

The 16th Canadian Folk Music Awards announced their 2021 nominees on December 1 via livestream. Bet on Love by Pharis & Jason Romero is in the lead with six nominations, Reliever by William Prince is honoured with five nominations, Yours To Break by The East Pointers has four nominations, and ataataga by Riit, Coyote by Catherine MacLellan, and Are You in Love? by Basia Bulat each received three nominations.

Established by Canada’s vibrant and internationally-recognized folk music community, the awards currently boasts 19 categories including two new categories “Single of the Year” and “World Music Album Of The Year,” which replaces the former awards for “World Solo Artist of the Year,” and “World Group of the Year.”

The Canadian Folk Music Awards Celebration will take place online over the weekend of April 9-10, 2021.
