Eh Material: Sacha made her Grand Ole Opry debut

Breakout Country artist Sacha made her Grand Ole Opry debut on October 22, performing on Country music’s biggest stage during the ongoing Opry 100 birthday celebration. The evening also included Restless Road, who Sacha collaborated with earlier this year with the single Shooting Star. In September, Opry member and Country music legend Terri Clark recorded a message to personally deliver the news of Sacha’s Opry debut. Sacha will perform in Oshawa, Ontario on December 12, with more Canadian dates planned for 2026 as part of the Old Dominion World Tour.

On Monday October 27 the Opry's love for Canadian female country musicians continues with The Music of My Life: An All-Star Tribute to Anne Murray with performances by k.d. lang, Michelle Wright, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Lorrie Morgan, Pam Tillis, The Gatlin Brothers, Natalie Grant, Shenandoah, Collin Raye, Victoria Shaw, and comedian Hugh Howser with additional appearances by Barry Trotz, Brenda Lee, & Randy Travis.

The Comedylicious Festival of Food, Folks, and Jokes launches today in Toronto and runs until October 27 for five impressive days packed with dozens of comedians and tons of food. The Ratskin Family Band, the world's first and only drag country band, will return to Drom Taberna in Toronto for a three month residency with shows on November 13, December 11, and January 8. The Uncommon Folk Collective released the original cast recording of Ursa: A Folk Musical on October 17, featuring Jake Schindler, Sam Boer, Belinda Corpuz, Ben Page, and Donna Garner. Through the fabricated folktale featuring Ursa (a small-town Ontario teenager restless adventure) and the peculiar, lonely bear she meets (a bear that was abandoned at a young age, and has never met another bear), this fantastical show provocatively articulates the mixed-up feelings of being young, wanting change, and struggling to make it happen.

Smooth Comedy Festival is back at the Staircase Theatre in Hamilton for the 3rd year in a row on November 28 and 29 with Todd Graham, Gavin Stephens, Lucy Winkle, Deria Ali, Andy Assaf, Noah Maloney, Ben Sosa Wright, Isabel Zaw Tun, Jordanne Brown, Boy Fringe, and Jackie Pirico.
