After sold out tours in 2020 and 2022, the stars of the Crave & Hulu Original Series Letterkenny are bringing a brand new "LETTERKENNY LIVE" tour across North America in with six Canadian dates in 2027. LETTERKENNY LIVE is an all-new original show with never-before-seen sketches and material featuring fan-favourite cast members from the hit series. The cast - Jared Keeso, Nathan Dales, Michelle Mylett, K. Trevor Wilson, Dylan Playfair, Andrew Herr, Tyler Johnston, Evan Stern, and Mark Forward - is reuniting for the first time since the series concluded its 12-season run, offering the exclusive experience of watching new "Letterkenny" material.

Although the Humber College Comedy Writing & Performing program was cancelled this past Spring, the Humber Faculty of Media, Creative Arts and Design announced Arnab Sen as the recipient of the 2026 Tim Sims Encouragement Award from the Ontario Arts Foundation. "After leaving a full-time corporate career and moving to Toronto to pursue comedy, Arnab took a leap of faith that has led to this incredible recognition of his talent and potential."

The Canadian Country Music Association has announce an all-Canadian first wave of performers for the 2026 CCMA Awards, taking place at Sasktel Centre in Saskatoon on September 19. The line will include Dean Brody, James Barker Band, The Reklaws, Owen Riegling, Tenille Arts, Hunter Brothers, Kalsey Kulyk, and Jess Moskaluke.

The 2026 Polaris Music Prize, award ceremony taking place September 22, revealed its 40 nominated album Long List including:

Bad Dog Theatre Company announced their 2026 Fall programming at Comedy Bar Bloor. The Audition, created by Bita Joudaki and Nicole Passmore will run Fridays in September; Moonstruck, created by Paloma Nunez and Sarah Hillier will run Fridays in October; and Roses & Thorns, created by Liz Johnston, Nadine Djoury, and Ann Pornel will run Fridays in November

From up fronts season, CBC announced the following comedies as part of the 2026-27 programming slate:

  • Samantha Bee will star as Canada’s unorthodox ambassador to Bulgaria in new original comedy The Ambassador

  • Canada/Norway absurdist comedy The Posse follows a clueless and privileged Norwegian in the 1800s who embarks on an unexpected journey to the Wild West.

From Bell Media's 2026/27 English original content slate:

  • Crave announces its latest project with Jared Keeso, CATS IN THE PLATEAU, a comedy about two Montréal garbage men who start a gang. Keeso will be joined onscreen by an ensemble cast including Alexander Calvert, Robert Bazzocchi, Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse, Brian Gazemar, and Lysandre Nadeau.

  • Starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar, BULGES is a new Crave Original comedy, based on the special of the same name, that follows the staff at a not-so-family friendly, all-male restaurant in Niagara Falls, Ont.

  • From Jennifer Podemski, Amber Daniels, and Sherry Mckay, the new Crave Original comedy series I CAN'T SAVE YOU follows a down-on-her-luck single mom who stumbles into stand-up comedy.

  • Created by Joyce Wong and Brian Keith Etheridge, GOLDEN MILE is a half-hour workplace ensemble comedy that follows the hijinks of three millennial security guards

  • Created, written by, and starring Jared Keeso, I KILL THE BEAR is a comedy about a family of bear wranglers for film sets, and why – after 100 years – they've decided to make this film their last.

  • SALTY is a female buddy comedy about Callie and Serena, two millennial mermaids who come ashore in small-town Atlantic Canada looking for love.

  • A reimagining of the classic Canadian 1979 comedic film, MEATBALLS is a coming-of-age way-too late story that's equal parts sweet and sexy.

Métis country singer-songwriter Catie St. Germain has been named the 2026 recipient of the Henry Armstrong Award. Catie St. Germain from Niverville, MB is known for her powerful, versatile voice and authentic songwriting. The Henry Armstrong Award (HAA) is a bursary and mentorship program, created to develop, elevate, and support Indigenous artists within the Canadian music industry.

SummerWorks Performance Festival announced programming for their upcoming festival from August 6 to 16, 2026. Provisions by Lester Trips, a physical theatre work as body horror, speculative fiction, and understated cringe comedy, will be at the Factory Theatre Studio August 10 and 11.

As the Canadian Country Music Association celebrates its 50th anniversary, the organization is hitting the roads of Saskatchewan with the CCMA Legends Tour – a multi-city concert series honouring the artists, songs and stories that have shaped Canadian country music over the past five decades. Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Charlie Major, Jason McCoy, and Michelle Wright will appear as part go Country Music Week 2026 in Saskatoon from September 16–19.

The Second City recently announced the launch of The Second City PLAY, a new division dedicated to children, families, schools, and communities. The launch comes alongside a growing slate of youth and family programming. No Grown-Ups Allowed directed by Mark Andrada, The Second City's interactive comedy experience for kids and families, debuted this spring and will continue with more than 40 performances throughout the summer. In June, Second City Summer Comedy Camps will welcome more than 1,500 campers across Chicago, Toronto, and New York.
